Happy New Year. Preparations are under way for Bayside Argonauts FC Winter Season 2010. In December last year Bayside Council completed a major upgrade at the Clubs home ground Shipston Reserve – Crawford St. Cheltenham Google Map. A Fully automated irrigation system and 55000 litre storage tank using both mains and recycled water were installed. The playing surface will vastly improve securing the Clubs future growth, improve player safety and minimize injury. Bayside City Council has requested the Club provide a forecast on teams playing this year so that ground allocation can be established. Football Federation Victoria has introduced changes to the Junior, Youth and Senior League structure this season. Many of these changes have caused disappointment and in some cases, Clubs in certain league’s are considering class legal action. Read: VPL Clubs serve letter to FFV click here.

Major Changes for 2010: Super League abolished – 6 metro zones instead of 4 – Sub Junior Small Sided Football consists of U7 (Intra Club), U9 play 7 a side, U11 play 9 a side half pitch, U9’s & U11’s ( FFV fixture with U11 having points & table). Bayside Argonauts compete in South East Zone ( all Clubs in Bayside, Kingston & Glen Eira Council ). Below is a table of proposed 2010 teams which has a mixture of Academy and Club players. Players highlighted in red are likely to return to their clubs from last year. If you’re considering switching Clubs this year there are places still available in all grades. If registrations exceed available places in proposed teams below, additional teams will be established. Maximum players in squads: U9 - 10 players, U11 - 12 players, U12’s and above – 15 players. Players turning 8 this year play U9 Joeys and players turning 9 play U9 Kangaroos. Players turning 10 this year play U11 joeys and players turning 11 play U11 Kangaroos.
